PERU ECUADOR & BOLIVIA
I am the Project Director of the $4.85M CAD Women As Biodiversity & Climate-Resilience Guardians in Wetland/Peatland Landscapes project (2024-2029) funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Alinea International. The Project aims to enhance the empowerment of women, including women of Indigenous heritage, to conserve highland wetland and peatland ecosystems for increased climate resilience in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. It will be implemented in communities located in the buffer zones around three internationally protected areas, known as Ramsar sites. Ramsar sites are wetland ecosystems designated as being of international importance under the 1971 international environmental treaty, "the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands".
